The following two aspects should be paid attention to in the daily maintenance of bitumen storage tanks:
1. Inspection and cleaning
Bitumen storage tanks need to be inspected regularly, including whether the structure, welds, interfaces, temperature control devices, etc. of the tanks are damaged or abnormal. Cleaning is also crucial. If bitumen is stored for a long time, it is easy to accumulate sediment and affect its quality, so the tanks need to be cleaned regularly.
2. Anti-corrosion
Because bitumen contains certain chemical components, long-term contact with the tank may cause metal corrosion. In order to extend the service life of the bitumen storage tank, it is usually necessary to apply anti-corrosion materials such as epoxy resin coatings on the inside of the tank. In addition, the anti-corrosion of the external coating is also important, especially in outdoor environments.
